Let's talk about three stages of engine camshaft processing:
(1) camshaft roughing stage includes each supporting journal, gear cylindrical journal and coarse grinding CAM. At this stage, the machine rigidity is required to be good, and the cutting quantity is selected as large as possible, in order to improve productivity and remove most of the processing allowance.
(2) The semi-finishing of camshaft is the finishing of the bearing journal and the grinding gear cylindrical journal. This stage mainly prepares for the machining of bearing journal gear.
(3) camshaft finishing includes fine grinding of supporting journal, thrust surface and CAM and helical gear machining. At this stage, the machining allowance and cutting amount are small and the machining precision is high.
